Appeal Sponsorship Refusal. Appeals allow applicant to appeal the decision before the Immigration Appeal Division (IAD), substantiating why his/her visa application should be approved. If you are a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident who made an application to sponsor a family member to immigrate to Canada and such sponsorship application was denied by the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), you may take this remedy.
A Sponsorship refusal appellant must file a completed Notice of Appeal form (in English or in French) together with the IRCC refusal letter before the IAD. The appeal must be done within 30 days upon receipt of the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada refusal letter. Failure to observe the reglementary period may affect the appeal filed.
